Boss 2-Speed TwinDragª reels give you all the features of their ATD big brother at only a quarter of the size. These reels feature the patented Accucast Cast Control System and the patented Accurate TwinDrag system. This system offers incredible drag smoothness with maximum fish stopping power. Made of 6061 T-6 billit aluminum, these reels are extremely durable, yet light weight. Internally, the Boss 2-Speed reels have 7 ABEC 5 rated bearings, rugged stainless steel heat-treated gears, two stainless steel anti-reverse bearings, and titanium drag washer. The two-speed reels are slid between the high and low speed. The new improved round-knob power handle is designed for added comfort and increased torque.

If you haven't had a chance to look at the new BX-2 reels it is hard know how the sizes compare to the original Boss reels. Actually there is no change in size.
The reels are the same sizes as before, just with different names. The BX2-400 looks exactly like the B2-270, the 500 is the 870 and the 600 is the 665. Other than the addition of the new ergonomic handle, the reels look exactly the same on the outside as the B2 reels from before. The main reason for the number change was to clean up the old system which referred to certain west coast rods. Now that Accurates are sold internationally a new numbering system was necessary.
The big difference is on the inside. Gears and other internal components have been beefed up considerably to allow the angler to put any size line on any reel and grind away with any amount of pressure.
The B2-30 and B2-50 are the two largest sizes in the line-up and are natural extensions of the line to larger reels. With these reels the series has a perfect reel size for anything that swims. The narrow sizes have just been added (August '09)and are ideal for tossing iron or for deep jigging, but are not limited to that. Some anglers just like the balance of the narrows better. Put spectra on these babies and you can handle anything that swims.
